CAREER HISTORY AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
NGOs, Foundations, and the Non-Profit Sector
Director and PMEL Consultant
The SMC Group | 2018 - Present (4 Years)| Barcelona, Spain
I run a boutique consultancy supporting our sector as a PMEL consultant. I create bespoke skill-building products, and provide advisory support, training, and workshops. I am inspired by my clients and am proud to work with UN agencies, activist organisations, philanthropies, feminist organisations, and social businesses.
Accomplishments (please see a representative project history here):
-
UNICEF Bangladesh: trained the team and assisted in preparing concept notes and proposals for two multi-year, £30 million FCDO-funded projects.
-
Fund for Global Human Rights: assisted the MEL team with tracking programmes to help answer assumptions in their Theory of Change. Co-designed the process to redesign their MEL framework in consultation with staff and partners.
-
Miaan Group: facilitated strategic planning, designed M&E tools, and wrote USAID proposals and reports, supporting the team throughout the project cycle to report on contributions to outcomes.
PMEL and Client Success Manager
ImpactMapper | 2019 - 2020 (2 Years) | Barcelona, Spain
I led a team providing M&E support to foundations and feminist networks. I managed our evaluation projects, skill-building, and consultancy services.
Programme Specialist - PMEL
Open Society Foundations | 2014 - 2018 | Budapest, Hungary
Grant-maker and portfolio lead, specialising in PMEL to sharpen my skills. I led impact assessments, designed and managed my programme's M&E strategy, and trained colleagues and partners. Accomplishments:
-
Organised a month-long study visit for European civil rights organisations to Washington, DC. The trip helped strengthen relationships between the two continents' movements for Black rights and resulted in joint projects. I ensured these opportunities received long-term and stable funding.
-
Designed and managed a Roma rights fellowship, targeting recent undergraduates and embedding them in policy research institutes. The programme ran for five years, strengthening the legitimacy of hosting organisations and supporting the careers of 47 young Roma.
-
Advocated for sustained, increased support for European civil rights and anti-discrimination organisations, during donor network convenings and at the European Parliament. I successfully managed dozens of partnerships, working groups, and communities of practice across international funders and intermediaries.
